The upcoming launch of iOS 5 will bring integrated Twitter experience, potentially flooding the social network’s servers. Twitter on its end did all the work to make sure that doesn’t happen so that all those new iOS users have an awesome experience.
According to Twitter’s engineering VP Michael Abbott, they have been beefing up servers and infrastructure over the past year. “During the last nine months, there’s been more infrastructure changes at Twitter than there had been in the previous five years at the company,” Abbott said in an interview with GigaOM.
At the moment, Twitter is processing more than 230 million tweets per day, up from 60 million last year… Sounds pretty fail whale-proof to me. What do you say?
