It looks like Angry Birds isn’t the only mobile game that can release a movie tie-in game these days as Halfbrick announced it’ll be taking its beloved Fruit Ninja game and injecting a healthy dose of the character Puss in Boots, who was originally a sidekick who debuted in Shrek 2, but will now be featured in his own film on October 28th.
Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots will feature two all new modes called Desperado and Bandito. The first mode, Desperado, takes Fruit Ninja’s classic mode but injects Magic Beans into the mix along with enhanced waves and scoring. We’re not entirely sure what benefit slicing up magic beans will be in the Fruit Ninja world, but the more things we can slice up, the better! The second mode, Bandito, seems to catch our interest just a little bit more as players will work their way through a number of increasingly difficult challenges with varying levels. As with the original Fruit Ninja game, players will be able to unlock new Puss in Boots themed unlockable items, as well as new wallpapers and blades.
Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots will be made available on October 20th in two different iOS flavors: $.99 for the iPhone version and $1.99 for the iPad. Until then, I guess we can all just go back to slicing fruit like a boring old ninja instead of slicing them up like while latin hunk Antonio Banderas comments on our excellent fruit slicing skills.
