RIM has updated the official Twitter for BlackBerry app in the Beta Zone with a long-awaited feature: multiple account support. Now you can send tweets and monitor timelines from up to five accounts. On top of that, you can also edit your Twitter profile from the device now, include name, location, and bio fields.
Twitter for BlackBerry already hosts full integration with native messages and contacts apps, along with with support for organized lists of people you follow on the social network, picture sharing, tweet geotagging, trending topic views, and handling incoming direct messages and @ replies.
With the addition of multiple account support, I’m having a hard time imagining what else the native app really needs. Sure, big third-party clients like HootSuite can offer monitoring of multiple social networks and access to some deep metrics data from the phone, but for a core client, I don’t think there’s much else RIM and Twitter really need to add. Are there any features you’d like to see in Twitter for BlackBerry? To get started with multiple accounts, head on over to the BlackBerry Beta Zone, or you can nab stable version here in App World.
