It shouldn’t be a surprise to you after reading my preview that I’m excited about Rockstar Games re-releasing Grand Theft Auto III on iOS & Android this Fall. GTA III had a huge impact on my life, and I’m sure the lives of other gamers as well. To remind us of all the fun times we had in the game, Rockstar released a 10-year anniversary trailer that highlights some of the mayhem we can expect to play through again when the game is released.
The 10-year anniversary video shows footage straight from the iOS & Android versions of the game with a number of enhanced graphical improvements over the original game. It may not look as impressive as some other games on mobile devices to you young whippersnappers, but when you consider how much content is going to be offered in a 600mb ~ 700mb file, your mind should explode out of your skull.
In case you needed to be reminder, here are the devices Grand Theft Auto III will support when it’s released:
- Apple iOS Devices: iPad 2, iPhone 4S
- Android Phones: Droid X2, HTC Evo 2, LG Optimus 2X, Motorola Atrix, Samsung Galaxy S2
- Android Tablets: Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
You should note the game won’t run on the iPhone 4, but Rockstar will support the game after launch in order to support more devices.
