Tower defense iPad game Defenders of Ardania offers a unique spin on the genre

I enjoy a good tower defense game from time to time. There’s just something about building up an unstoppable armada of buildings that can amuse me for hours on end. But what if there was a game that not only allowed me to build towers, but also deploy my own wave of enemies to my opponents, cast spells, and all looking absolutely drop dead gorgeous? Then Defenders of Ardania might be exactly what I’ve been looking for.

Developer Paradox Interactive is making a splash into the iOS scene by developing their first title on December 6th. Defenders of Ardania, as I mentioned above, will allow players to build up their own towers in order to defend their territory, but also send waves of enemies to their enemies’ territory. Think of it as a blend of tower defense with tower offense. Players will be able to choose from one of three unique factions and can specialize their experience however they like. You’ll also be able to go head-to-head in an online multiplayer mode for 2 players.

Mixing a tower defense with some offensive abilities seems like a pretty neat idea. It also helps Defenders of Ardania looks absolutely gorgeous in the trailer that was released for the game. It looks like I have something else to look forward to in December that doesn’t involve a jolly fat man delivering presents via Amazon.
