It seems ever since Burn the Rope hit the iOS scene, players have been fascinated with burning things on their iOS devices. If you’re one of these gaming pyromaniacs, then you’ll be happy to hear there’s another game that’s been released that not only allows you to burn your enemies, but save princesses to.

Ubisoft’s Monster Burner is an arcade game that, as the name of the game suggests, has you burning wave after wave of enemies as they march their way to storming your castle. Attacking enemies will deplete your limited mana pool, and holding your finger down will generate a larger ball of fire, but will cost you even more mana. Players will be rewarded if they aim their fireballs to attack a chain of enemies by multiplying their score.

As players progress, they’ll receive coins which can be used to equip themselves with more powerful spells. If players prefer to obtain these spells without toiling through the game collecting coins, coins can also be obtained via in-app purchased. Although for the life of me, I’ll never understand why people would pay for a game and not want to actually play it.

One cool aspect of Monster Burner is its ability to blend social gaming aspects right into the game. Through OpenFeint, you’ll be able to compare your score with friends and other players. If you are close to beating someone’s score, a monster will be transformed into that player’s OpenFeint avatar.

Monster Burner is a fun, arcade game that anyone could pick up and play, but will challenge those who want to obtain the highest score possible through combinations. If you enjoy games that let you burn monsters, then you can’t go wrong with this title.

At first momentary look, Monster Burner looks like a game
we’ve all seen a thousand times before. Each level features a story book-like
background as tiny monsters march down the screen toward you. To the left of
your screen, you’ll see a small icon move about upward. Your goal is to defend
against the army of marching monsters until the clock reaches zero without
    losing all of your lives.
