Fotopedia, the publisher of popular iOS apps and the Fotopedia Magazine, launched another photography-rich application for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad users. This time their focus is on Japan and for the effort they teamed up with Hakuhodo, the second largest advertising agency in the Land of the rising Sun.
Included in the “deal” are 1,300 awesome photos, interactive maps, information and a trip builder to create your lists of favorite spots or plan your dream trip to Japan. The familiar Fotopedia-like interface is also there, allowing you to easily browse through all of the content and learn something while doing so.
The goal of this app’s launch is to generate interest for Japan as a tourism destination and the Narita International Airport as the gateway to the country with a simple message – “Welcome to Japan, see it for yourself.”
We like the idea – offer a great app for free and find sponsors which won’t aggressively push their message to the users; Fotopedia Japan’s advertising is unobtrusive, subtle and we like it for that…
