After a few stray glimpses, LG and Prada have announced their next joint effort. The Prada 3.0 has a 4.3-inch 800 x 480 Nova display, 8 megapixel camera with LED flash and 1080p video recording, dual-core 1 GHz processor, and 8 GB of on-board storage (plus microSD). NFC is Currently, it’s running Android 2.3, but an update to 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is planned.

As you might expect, the phone has a very distinctive style about it. Though there’s nothing too outrageous about the Prada 3.0 – in the end it’s just another slab form factor – the UI has had a few interesting tweaks. I’m digging the inverted colour scheme, as I tend to find white on black much better for visibility.

LG and Prada have had a solid relationship for over five years, and made a pretty big splash when their first phone launched, but the Prada 3.0 is facing some considerably tougher competition than back then. In any case, the fashion-conscious will be able to pick up the Prada 3.0 in January, likely in Europe first, since the announcement was made in Germany.
