US Cellular is adding its first Huawei device to the offering. The Ascend II already got a dedicated page at the carrier’s website, though at the moment you can only sign-up for e-mail updates. The Android-powered smartphone will start selling online next week and will hit stores in early January.
Specs wise, we’re talking about an entry-level device with a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera, 600MHz processor, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS, microSD memory card slot, while Android 2.3 Gingerbread is running the show.
US Cellular will give away the Ascend II for free to anyone willing to commit on a two-year agreement with Belief Plan with Data Plus. Actually, you’ll have to pay $100, which is the amount you’ll get back in the form of a mail-in rebate that comes as a MasterCard debit card.
And you can check the Huawei Ascend II from this page at US Cellular’s website.
