Huawei is rolling the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for its pretty popular U8800 Titan aka IDEOS X5 smartphone as we speak. We’re not sure whether all flavors of the device are included (like carrier-specific versions), but as far as we understood, most users in Europe should notice that a new software version is available for download.
Before proceeding, make sure your battery is fully charged and that you’re connected to a fast Wi-Fi hotspot to grab the 192MB heavy file. What’s more, it’s a good practice to have all of your key information backed up locally just in case, God forbids, something goes wrong.
Final note – Huawei warns that those of you with custom ROMs running on their devices may encounter difficulties when upgrading. So if you’re in that group, maybe it’s best to bring the device to the original state before updating. Good luck! 😉
