Samsung has announced that it has reached 1 million Galaxy Note units shipped. As we all know, that doesn’t necessarily means the same number sold — however, that’s still an impressive figure for a device as powerful and somewhat controversial as the Note.

In related news, the Korean company said their smartphone/tablet will hit the U.S. shores at some point next year. If I had to guess, I would say that we’ll see this powerful device announced by some carrier (maybe even more than one) at the upcoming CES in Las Vegas. In that sense, we’ve already heard AT&T may launch the LTE-enabled version, which is awesome.

Now I’m eager to hear – are you going to be one of the first ones to get the Samsung Galaxy Note when it’s released in the States? Or is it too big of a phone and too small of a tablet for you?

I’ve long said that the best camera is the one you have with you. That has become the one in my smartphone.

Now I’ll adjust the saying to: The best tablet is the one you have with you. When AT&T finally gets the Note, it will be the “tablet” that I always have with me.

I knew I didn’t want a 10 inch tablet. I excitedly bought the Acer Iconia A100 7 inch tablet when it came out. But I just don’t bother to have it with me most of the time. I ended up giving it to a family member who is in college, and keeps it in his backpack.

5.3 seems like a good compromise. It will nearly fill my pants pocket, but not overflow. Having my phone, calendar, email, and an internet-connected “tablet” with me at all times will be very nice.
