Good though not great news for those of you with Verizon Wireless’ version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 – the carrier is planning to release a new software version for the Android tablet in the near future. Before you go hurray, I’m sad to say it’s not the so-much-wanted Ice Cream Sandwich update. Rather, firmware version I905-EL01 is a maintenance release that brings TouchWIZ UX improvements, a new Social Hub widget, improved media player with DivX support, Bluetooth 3.0 and support for additional Wi-Fi routers, photo editor, and The Daily news app that provides users with access to “best of print, web, and broadcast news from around the world.”
It’s worth updating even without the latest version of Android and as soon as you see that a new software version is ready for download, “push the button” and follow the on-screen instructions. Make sure your battery is fully charged and that your key information is safely backed up before proceeding…
