ooVoo, the social video communication service offering up to 12-way video chat, announced record levels of video traffic and user growth in 2011.

The company ended last year with more than 38 million users, 1 million of which registered between the Christmas and New Year holiday. In total, ooVoo users consumed over 10 billion video minutes in 2011 with an enormous increase in multi-party video minutes.

Commenting on the news, ooVoo’s Robert Jackman said: “If you want to have a free, high quality video experience with multiple people on mobile and desktop devices, ooVoo is the best alternative in the market and our hyper-growth is evidence of that. 2011 was a watershed year for ooVoo in terms of the number of people using the service with a massive number of users participating in group video chats across different platforms.”

ooVoo is available as a free download for iOS and Android devices – you can get it from the links below.
