MetroPCS is the first U.S. carrier to officially announce new devices at the CES (which BTW opens for public tomorrow). They’ve prepared two LTE smartphones for the big event – the Samsung Galaxy Attain 4G and LG Connect 4G.
First let’s talk about Sammy’s baby. It’s a mid-range device with a 3.5-inch screen, 1GHz processor, 3-megapixel camera with LED flash on the back and 1.3-megapixel front-facing one [camera]. MetroPCS will offer the Attain 4G for $199 plus tax, after a $50 mail-in rebate, with a two-year contract.
Then there’s much powerful LG Connect 4G that rocks a dual-core 1.2GHz CPU, 4-inch NOVA WVGA display, 5-megapixel rear camera with flash, and a front-facing camera. It will be available later this month (price was not mentioned in the press release).
Both phones run Android 2.3 Gingerbread and will be offered with MetroPCS’ smartphone plans of $50 and $60, taxes and regulatory fees included. The cheaper plan comes with 1GB of multimedia streaming access, while the more expensive one includes unlimited multimedia streaming access…
