It was nearly a year ago when I got to check out the Call of Duty Elite service before it officially launched with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. During their demo, Activision said it was planning to roll out Call of Duty Elite through four methods: web, TV via game console, in-game, and mobile. The first three methods simultaneously released with Modern Warfare 3, but mobile was still deep in development. Activision has finally made true on their promise of allowing Call of Duty Elite users access their information on mobile as they’ve announced the Call of Duty Elite iOS app has been released.

The Call of Duty Elite iOS app doesn’t bring everything to your iOS device that can be accessed from the web, TV, or in-game. Instead, the app allows you to look up your career summary, recent matches, challenge tracker, and custom classes all within a sleek design that emulates the overall Elite experience. Activision assures us that the app will continue to evolve and updates are planned, but so far the Elite app is a very nice start to keeping track of your Elite career.

Android users also should take note that the Android version of the Call of Duty Elite app is planned to be released next week. So until then, you can proceed to go online and treat your enemies as if they’re iOS owners who are enjoying the app before you do. That’s a great way to vent out your app-envy.
