Sony is back in the mobile phone game having acquired Ericsson’s part of the joint venture. At the CES, we’ve seen two new Sony smartphones for the Japanese market – Xperia NX and Xperia acro HD, as well as two models for the western hemisphere, Xperia ion and Xperia S, first of which will join AT&T’s portfolio in the second quarter of this year. Moreover, the company also unveiled three mobile accessories (so called Smart Extras), including NFC-based SmartTags, Bluetooth headset turned MP3 player – Smart Wireless Headset pro, and SmartWatch – a small notification display that can also work as a watch. Finally, Sony also had its fancy tablets, laptops, cameras and TVs at display, attracting quite a crowd to its booth…
