ZTE is still far from a household name in the U.S. While they do offer some consumer products — like the brand new 4G hotspot ZTE Jetpack from Verizon Wireless — they’re still far other handset makers. That said, they did show some decent products at the CES, though I can’t say we were that impressed. Will the Chinese company do something about it in 2012? Most likely, but as far as know how these things work – they’ll start with mid-tier products, gradually building brand awareness to eventually launch a solid high-end device (just as we reported before).
