Here’s the deal – Samsung has filed for a “Galaxy Camera” trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, with Goods and Services marked as “Cameras and camcorders.”
Now this doesn’t necessarily mean the Korean company will launch Android-powered cameras, but… why not? Sammy is using the Galaxy brand for its smartphones, media players and tablets. Adding digital cameras to the mix kinda makes sense.
When (or that’s “if”) released such cameras would allow users to quickly share photos with their buddies, just like they do on a smartphone. The trick is to offer much better optics with real zoom. I’m sure that if priced competitively, Samsung could make a winning product… or a whole product series. What do you think?
In any case, we’ll keep watching for anything Galaxy-branded and let you know as soon as we hear something new… Stay tuned in the meantime, will ya’?
