Samsung is rolling out a new software update for the US Wi-Fi only version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1. Unfortunately, Ice Cream Sandwich isn’t included in the mix — rather this is a maintenance update that will fix some of the known bugs, while also improving the overall performance of the tablet.
The build number HTJ85B.UEKMP P7510UEKMP fixes email attachment issues, rotation issues, Wi-Fi reconnect issues, system file force close issues, while also improving power consumption. Moreover, you’ll get a new version (3.4.4) of the Android Market app, so it’s advised to delete any shortcuts to the old Market and replace them with new ones.
Of course, your Galaxy Tab should have enough juice to finish the update process. If that’s on place, connect to a fast hotspot, go to Settings, About tablet and take it from there. Now you may not see the new firmware there yet, but don’t worry – you’ll get it in the next few days…
