The HTC Endeavor / One X is becoming a poorly kept secret, as we’re hearing more details leaks out for the device virtually every day. MoDaCo recently got some time with the upcoming device and have detailed the hardware very well. It looks like potential Endeavor owners will be happy with a majority of the handset’s features and not so happy about a few.
The Good
- Said to be rocking a 4.7 inch 720p Super LCD display, the Endeavor will not be for everyone when it comes to size. We’ve seen HTC ship phones with this size display before in the US with the Titan but we’ve yet to see the likes of the Sensation XL land on this side of the pond.
- We’re looking at a very thin device but have no solid dimensions for the phone. As you’d expect, the hardware construction is typical HTC : solid.
- The NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor is a go and is clocked at 1.5GHz.
- 8 megapixel camera with LED Flash along with a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera
- As you’d expect, the handset ships with Beats support and has 5 pogo pins for a speaker dock accessory
- Expect the usual WiFi (2.4Ghz & 5GHz) and Bluetooth 4.0, along with every sensor you’d expect from a device of its kind. This includes NFC.
- 1800 mAh battery
- Ice Cream Sandwich and Sense 4.0
The Not So Good
- Like the Galaxy Nexus, the Endeavor will not have expandable storage but will ship with 32GB out of the box.
- There is a notification LED on the device but the colors are limited to amber and green
- The device will only take microSim cards, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but you’ll likely need to get a new one or trim your existing SIM up if you’re upgrading from virtually anything but a RAZR or iPhone 4(S)
The pros definitely outweigh the cons with this handset and hopefully we’ll be able to see the Endeavor/ One X for ourselves during Mobile World Congress.
