Square-Enix’s Final Fantasy Tactics was released for the iPhone after several delays in August 2011 and an iPad version was said to have been in the process of being published, but seeing how long it took for Final Fantasy Tactics to be released on the iPhone, I’m sure many of you forgot all about the iPad version. Good things come to those who wait, or completely forget about them due to their lengthy development process, as Square-Enix has finally made Final Fantasy Tactics available on the iPad.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions for the iPad isn’t an update to the iPhone version. The only thing that has been changed in the iPad version is the game’s resolution as well as some minor tweaks in the graphics in order for the game to look good on the iPad. So keep that in mind if you’ve purchased the iPhone version and are thinking of picking up the iPad version.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Final Fantasy Tactics games, expect it to be quite different from the more traditional Final Fantasy titles. Instead of being a turn-based RPG, it’s a turn-based strategy RPG where you control your units on a 3-dimensional playing field. There are a lot of nuances that players need to be aware of, luckily Final Fantasy Tactics will hold your hand in the beginning portions of the game so ease you through the learning curve. Players of course can also expect the same engaging story you’d expect from a Square-Enix Final Fantasy game.
