Aside from the new powerful Ascend D series devices, Huawei also launched another Android smartphone at Mobile World Congress – G300. It’s a mid-ranger with metal-clad casing and specs that include a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera on the back, HSPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, dual microphones for crystal-clear call quality, along with all of the usual bells and whistles you would expect from a modern Android device. Android 2.3 Gingerbread is running the show, though Ice Cream Sandwich update is in works as we speak.

Exact availability and pricing information were not unveiled, but we do know Vodafone UK will soon include the G300 in its offering. According to the Big Red operator, Huawei’s baby is good choice for users looking for a “great value, affordable Android-powered smartphone,” packing “the kind of features you’d get on premium phones.” It will be offered both with pay monthly and pay as you go tariffs…
