We’re live at Mobile World Congress 2012 and one of the interesting trends is handset makers creating water-proof phones. Panasonic rolled out its Eluga lineup and these are thin and powerful smartphones that you won’t have to worry about if you spill on them.
The Eluga Power gets most of the attention because it sports a 5-inch 720p screen, a dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm S4 processor, Android Ice Cream Sandwich and more. Unfortunately, the one we were checking out wasn’t working but a few of the pictures below should give you an idea of the size. I’m not in love with 5-inch screens because I believe it’s still too large to use comfortably. To be fair, the Eluga Power is very thin.
The smaller Eluga takes a little step down in terms of power but I think it’s a more manageable device with its 4.3-inch qHD display. It also has a 1GHz dual-core TI OMAP processor, 8GB of memory, HSPA+ 4G, an 8-megapixel camera and it can be submerged for up to 30 minutes. Overall, these were some neat-looking phones from Panasonic.
