Talk about numbers. The world’s most populous country has been the world’s largest mobile market for quite some time now and just recently it has reached the most impressive milestone evar, hitting the 1 billion mobile users mark.

According to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the number of mobile phone subscribers reached 997 million by late February, and was expected to top one billion by month’s end. Checking my calendar – it’s March 5th now, so the milestone has been reached.

As a reminder, it was in 2007 when China surpassed 500 million mobile phone users, meaning its mobile market has doubled in the last five years alone. Impressive indeed!
