Halfbrick’s Jetpack Joyride certainly impressed me when it was released last August, surpassing 13 million downloads after going completely free in October. Thanks to the mobile gaming community’s continued support of the game, Halfbrick has finally announced what their major content update is. Unfortunately, it doesn’t involve the Fruit Ninja sensei.
The next update for Jetpack Joyride is said to be the game’s biggest piece of content to date and will include gadgets that can be purchased from the game’s Stash. Judging by the information given by Halfbrick, it seems like the gadgets are enhancements players can have Barry Steakfries use in order to give him different attributes and skills. As of now, only three gadgets have been revealed: the Air Barrys, Ezy-Dodge Missles, and Free Ride.
Halfbrick also announced Jetpack Joyride has been downloaded over 16 million times and released a new trailer to tease the upcoming 1.3 update, but in typical teaser fashion, no actual gameplay footage is shown of any of the gadgets. If you’d like to check it out anyways to see a scientist bounce himself through the ceiling, then you can do so below.
