Temple Run for Android has seemed like a thing of legends, only to be revealed once every millennia when the planets have fully aligned, pigs fly, and unicorns run free all at the same time. Release date windows have come and gone, but now, it looks like the wait will finally be over as Imangi Studios has finally nailed down a release date of March 27th for Temple Run to make its debut on the Android platform.
Co-founder of Imangi Studios, Keith Shepherd, had the following to share regarding today’s announcement:
We are excited to finally share the Android release date with our fans who have been so enthusiastic and supportive of Temple Run. By expanding to more mobile devices, we hope to provide the same addictive and fast-paced gameplay to an entirely new group of players.
Imangi Studios also announced that in just a month’s time, the game has been downloaded more than 4 million times since their last announcement, exceeding 40m downloads on the iOS platform. Seeing as the game has been hugely anticipated by Android gamers the world over, I can only imagine what kind of download numbers the game will receive when it’s made available on March 27th. I doubt it’ll reach Angry Birds numbers, but it’ll still be quite impressive.
