The new iPad is landing Friday, March 16, and Apple has just confirmed that you’ll be able to pick up the new tablet bright and early. The new iPad will go on sale at 8 a.m. this Friday.
Apple has said that the demand for the new iPad is “off the charts,” so if you want to pick one up early on March 16, it looks like you may have to wait in a long line. I’m not a fan of waiting overnight for any products but I’m sure there will be Apple stores across the world with people waiting overnight to get their hands on its latest tablet.
What’s the big fudging deal? Well, the new iPad’s main appeal is the “Retina Display,” which has been well-received by those who have played with it. This is supposedly so sharp that it could be the best display that we’ve ever seen – even better than your large, 1080p HD screen.
Besides the sure-to-be-wonderful display, the new iPad also sports a 5-megapixel camera on the back which can record 1080p HD videos. Throw in support for 4G LTE and the existing robust ecosystem and the new iPad is likely to be a major hit and it sets the bar for tablets in 2012. Along with the launch in the United States, the new iPad will also be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland and the UK; along with Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
