TAG Heuer has been trying to enter the mobile space in the past with its Meridiist phone which at one point was offered in a special Automobili Lamborghini package. Heck the Swiss company even had its own Bluetooth headset, which like its other products was made for the lucky/rich few who don’t mind spending a small fortune on a luxury handsfree experience.

Now TAG is taking another shot with a new device called TAG Heuer RACER. Promising to deliver an “unparalleled torsion and strength to weight ratio,” it merges “luxury and performance” and is apparently inspired by TAG Heuer heritage in GT cars and Formula 1.

We don’t know all about the forthcoming phone except that it uses high-tech materials, including the shockproof, screwed-in titanium and carbon fiber bridges. Moreover, it will feature a “high-speed processor” and “latest Android software” that will be customized with a special 3D user interface.

As for the price, the new TAG Heuer Racer collection starts at 2800 EUR, and will be available in TAG Heuer boutiques, luxury mobile boutiques and selected watch and jewelry retailers in July…
