Archos will soon launch a new tablet, one that will compete with the Asus Transformer series, boasting a full keyboard alongside big touchscreen. We don’t have all the details at the moment — except the short teaser video below — but we do know it will be a 7.6mm thin device all with the keyboard! The trick is in using the keyboard as tablet’s lid, which is neat idea to say the least. That said, I doubt this keyboard has its own battery (like Asus’ tablets have), but I like it nevertheless.

We’ve no idea how much the Gen 10 XS will cost, but since we’re talking about a high-end product here, I would assume it will cost at least 500 EUR. Similarly we don’t know when exactly Archos will launch this baby, but we’ll definitely keep our eyes wide open and let you know as soon as we catch anything new on this.

In the meantime, you may also care to know that the tablet maker is preparing an array of entry-level models as part of its Archos Elements series. These will be available with 7, 8 and 10-inch screens, priced at 129, 149 and 199 EUR, respectively…

And now the mentioned teaser video of the Gen 10 XS. Enjoy!
