The second season of AMC’s The Walking Dead wrapped up this past weekend and, in its typical fashion, has kept fans with a cliffhanger many are most likely scratching their heads. Season 3 is said to be coming in October, so what do Walking Dead fans do until we rejoin Rick and the rest of the survivors? Thankfully, Telltale Games has announced the first chapter in its episodic The Walking Dead game will be hitting iOS later next month and will certainly keep Walking Dead fans busy until the new season is released.

The Walking Dead from Telltale Games will tell an untold story of a convicted criminal named Lee Everett. The people, events, and locations will all take place before the events of Deputy Sheriff Rick Grimes and depending on the player’s choices, the outcome of the story will reflect them throughout the entire series of games. There won’t be much running & gunning in the game, instead focusing on player choices as they fight to survive.

Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead game will certainly be a departure for the kinds of games the company makes as of up to this point, have been mainly point & click puzzle adventure games that either starred pirates, time travelers, dinosaurs, or a dog & rabbit. The game will be receive an M rating, which is expected when you consider the game will be full of zombies, blood, and bullets to the brain.

As of now, no price was given for the game, but seeing as Telltale Games usually hit the App Store at $6.99, I wouldn’t be surprised if they kept their pricing tradition. For now, Telltale released a debut trailer that I’m sure you Walking Dead fans are going to want to see.
