iZettle, which in case you missed our previous posts is like a European version of Square that works with smart cards, scored a deal with Telia to make its credit card reader available across the operator’s shops in Sweden. The idea is to expand iZettle’s reach and make more iOS users (Android version is still not available) adopt this easy to use solution for accepting credit/debit card payments.
The iZettle card reader comes to the price of SEK 199 (about 22 EUR or $30) excluding VAT, and with a SEK 200 voucher toward iZettle transaction fees. The service requires no setup fees or monthly fees, and you will rather pay per transaction – 2.75% of the sale plus SEK 1.50 (0.15 EUR). iZettle will electronically deposits payments in the seller’s bank account the business day following transactions.
As a reminder, iZettle began commercial service in Sweden in October, and is now also available in Denmark, Finland and Norway. Needless to say, they’re eyeing the rest of Europe and will most likely expand to other markets later this year…
