Physics-based puzzle games are a dime a dozen on mobile platforms these days, with the most popular one having to be Angry Birds. That’s why when I heard Fibble was going to be yet another physics-based puzzle game, I yawned at the game loudly while rolling my eyes. When I found out it was developed by Crytek, I stopped being so rude to my Fibble guest, offered the game some coffee and sweets, and proceeded to play with him all day and night.

Fibble – Flick ‘n’ Roll has you taking control of an extraterrestrial named Fibble who has crash-landed on Earth and has been separated from his crew. The game mechanics are heavily physics based as you’ll pull back on Fibble in order to project him in the desired direction. As you progress through the game’s 30 levels, you’ll come across Fibble’s friends who will assist him with their unique abilities to complete each level.

Even though the game can be considered a casual game just because it’s a physics-based puzzler, that in no way should reflect on the amount of work that was put into this game. In later levels, the game will become so complex that you can spend a good 5 minutes staring at your iOS device trying to figure out the best route possible to complete a level. The game allows you to pick and choose which of Fibble’s friends can be assigned to a specific location in a level, and that offers quite a challenge.

Fibble is a lot of fun and Crytek is currently working on more content for the game. Hopefully this will include a new friend as well as new levels to play on. Oh, and did I mention it’s currently Apple’s Game of the Week? Yea, it’s that good.
