You know how it goes – you start playing some game and are progressing nicely. After some time you get a different phone and if you fire-up the same game, you have to go through all levels again. Ubisoft (and every single person for that matter) thinks that sucks and wants to do something about it. The game publisher is working on its own cloud service that will allow players to save their progress and continue playing from where they left off even when switching platforms. And we’re not talking about mobile alone – this service will also work on Facebook, which is a nice touch.
In an interview with Pocket-lint, Ubisoft’s head of digital Chris Early said: “I think that is a huge issue and I personally can’t stand it where I have to do something over again. We have a cloud-based storage system for that data for you.” Unfortunately he failed to mention the launch date though we hope we won’t have to wait for too long. Likewise, we’re looking forward to see other mobile game publishers taking the same route…
