We were genuinely impressed with the 41-megapixel camera on the Nokia PureView 808 but we were taken aback by the fact that it ran Symbian. Well, a leaked image suggests that we may see this technology on an upcoming Windows Phone.

The leaked picture suggests we can expect a Lumia smartphone with this 41-megapixel technology. If you don’t recall, this type of camera uses come amazing technology. It uses custom image sensors which capture more colors than your average camera and it distills it down to a manageable size.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard that the PureView technology would be coming to Windows Phone this year, so this leak suggests we may see it sooner, rather than later. I can’t wait.

Check out the video below for an idea of what this PureView technology can do.
