xda-developers member “proxuser” doesn’t want to wait for the official Ice Cream Sandwich for HTC’s Desire S and Desire HD and has decided to make its own version of the software in the meantime. He come up with a custom ROM, using the HTC One V’s software as a basis.
As expected, not everything is working at the moment — including camera, Wi-Fi hotspot and USB tethering — but it’s getting there and soon enough you’ll be able to use all of the phone’s functions without any problems. There’s is one caveat, though – soon enough we’ll also get the official Ice Cream Sandwich update from HTC so I’m not sure is it worth experimenting. Guess these kinds of things are made for the uber-geeks who have a spare device to play with it. If you’re in that group and also happen to own the Desire S or Desire HD, check out these two pages at xda-developers and see if you can make some magic happen. If you do succeed, please let us know how it went for you. 😉
