LogMeIn is one of the top remote desktop apps for iOS and Android. It lets you connect to and control your desktop when you are away from home. On Thursday, the company improved its remote control service with a new cloud storage component called “Cubby.”

For users, Cubby will let them let take any PC or Mac folder and turn it into a “cubby” that can be kept in the cloud, accessed from other devices, and shared with colleagues and friends.” Just like Dropbox or Box.net, the new Cubby service will let you sync data across devices including the iPad, iPhone, Android, Mac and Windows PCs. It launched today as a beta and includes 5GB of cloud storage.

Cubby is built on LogMeIn’s Gravity Data Services, which provides a secure and cost efficient way to synchronize data and store it in the cloud. LogMeIn customers who want to check out the cloud service can ask for an invite at Cubby’s new website.

Robust! The remote access of ones desktop while on the move and at the same time cloud computing happens.. sounds really useful and practical! The Cubby seems a super tool to enhance the remote access of the computer.
