YouTube user foxfire235 posted a unique video online pitting the iPhone 4S, HTC One X, and Nokia Lumia 900 against each other to determine which phone has the best display. You might expect the iPhone’s retina display or even the One X’s large high-res display to take the cake, but you’d be wrong. The Nokia Lumia 900 reigns as champ.
The reviewer says that while the Lumia 900 is probably over-saturated more than the competing devices, it overall has the “best viewing experience” and can be compared to having a regular photo pasted over the display — it looks that good. Maybe it’s just me, but from a video perspective it looks like the HTC One X is the most over-saturated, but it’s hard to tell from the perspective of a YouTube viewer.
The Nokia Lumia 900 is just another testament that specs don’t matter. It features a standard AMOLED display, 4.3 inches diagonally. Nokia boasts their “ClearBlack” display technology — whatever that is — but it only has a 800 x 480 resolution, which is pretty low for a 4.3-inch display. If you’re a big pixel density enthusiast, the iPhone 4S is still the winner with 326 ppi. We can argue all day about whether giant phones are better than smaller ones, but in terms of pure quality, it seems that Nokia’s Lumia 900 fares quite well.
