GameKeyboard makes all Android games optimized for rooted Sony Ericsson Xperia Play

If you own the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, you may be frustrated by the limited number of available games optimized for your phone’s built-in gamepad. While Sony Ericsson (now just Sony) tried its best to convince many major publishers to release such titles, the fact is that most games rely exclusively on touchscreen controls.

Enter GameKeyboard, a new Android app that will make every friggin’ game use Xperia Play’s physical buttons rather than on-screen ones. It’s not super-easy to make it work, but it’s not complicated either.

First of all, you’ll need to root your PlayStation-certified smartphone and then buy GameKeyboard from Google Play (it cost some 2.5 bucks). Then you’ll need to do some other things which are nicely described in the video below, and mark touch-screen inputs to hardware buttons for every game you want to play with the side-sliding gamepad. It sounds like a pain, but it’s really a one-time thing and well worth the effort… or at least I think so…

Here’s the video I’ve been talking about and you can get GameKeyboard from the link below.
