Rovio, the wildly popular mobile game maker, recently announced on its Twitter page that its latest Angry Birds installment, Angry Birds Space, was downloaded 50 million times in 35 days. Wow. This makes Angry Birds Space the fastest growing mobile game in history.
Angry Birds Space launched March 22 with a legion of loyal fans waiting to get their hands on the totally new version. The anticipation of the new Angry Birds installment was hyped up by Rovio for a year, and frankly, it lived up to the hype. The game constantly gets updated with interesting innovations. Recently, Angry Birds Space for both iOS and Android received an update which added new levels, and other bonus content.
Moreover, there are rumors murmuring about the iconic Simpsons coming to Angry Birds Space, by way of a future update. As a fan, I hope this happens soon, as I can see Homer helping the birds defeat the evil doer pigs by gobbling them.
That said, Rovio plans to capitalize on this crazy momentum, as the company stated in an interview with TechCrunch. Head Bird in charge, Peter Vesterbacka, promised four new games to hit sometime this year. If the games are anything like Angry Birds, then things should get sparingly interesting.
