With the international version of the Samsung Galaxy S III available today, all eyes are turning to the US variants, which have been rumored to land sometime in late June. The guys over at TMONews just received some release dates for a handful of upcoming handsets and the Galaxy S III was in that select bunch.
According to the tip, we may end up seeing the T-Mobile Galaxy S III as soon as June 20th, which is a date that has been thrown around a few times before. Of course, even if this is accurate information, the date could be changed at a moment’s notice. Still, June 20th is a significantly shorter wait for the US compared to the Galaxy S II, so we can definitely applaud Samsung for getting its flagship handset out to the US faster than ever.
While it does look like Magenta will be receiving both colors of the handset, the names of said colors have changed. Instead of pebble blue or pearl white, T-Mobile is set to receive metallic blue and ceramic white. The colors will likely remain the same, so we’re not sure why the names of said colors would change. Then again, we don’t necessarily care, either. On June 20th, the metallic blue Galaxy S III should arrive in both 16GB and 32GB versions, with the ceramic white version landing on July 11th with only the 16GB version in tow.
Also on the list of leaked handset release dates were two new Huawei-made myTouch handsets (Phoenix and Buddy), along with the Samsung Galaxy Note. These handsets will join the ceramic white Galaxy S III on July 11th.
No pricing for any of the handsets were revealed but we may not have much longer to find out. The Galaxy S III is certainly the cat’s meow at the moment but if the rumor that Google may be releasing up to five Nexus devices this year, you might be longing for something else in just a few months time.
