Apple has just announced that Facebook will see deeper integrations within iOS 6. Similar to what Apple did with Twitter in iOS 5, users of Apple’s iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch products can now post directly to Facebook from within multiple applications. The function works similarly to the Twitter functionality, as Facebook was simply added as an option to the customary share menu found in most applications. Apple and Facebook have added App Store integration as well, so you can spam share applications with your Facebook friends.
iOS users can also now integrate their Facebook contacts into their phone’s Contacts application, so you can easily talk, text, or chat with your Facebook friends who have a linked phone number.
Of course, we’re still a far cry away from full third-party sharing integration similar to what Google has accomplished in Android, but we don’t see Apple going down that path anytime soon. For now, the 900+ million of you out there who use Facebook as your social network of choice can now enjoy easier sharing with your Facebook friends from your iDevice.
