Word is Samsung the largest supplier of Android smartphones was once interested in buying Finnish-based handset maker, Nokia. Well, the Korean-based manufacturer officially put those rumors to bed by denying such thing. In an email statement Samsung wrote, “Such reports are purely speculative and are not true.”

I’m sure Samsung at least looked at Nokia since it was floundering in market share (like most businesses do to other struggling ones), but never really intended on buying. Honestly, there isn’t any real reason Sammy would need to purchase Nokia. The company is doing just fine without the Finnish phone maker, hell; it even overtook Nokia in the first quarter as the world’s largest handset maker.
