Good news for TELUS’ customers with Galaxy S II X smartphone – the carrier and Samsung have started rolling out the Ice Cream Sandwich update, with some users around the web already getting it via Kies. The official launch date for the new firmware is set at June 12th and I guess the over-the-air update will be released at that time.

If you tried Kies and haven’t seen the new software, don’t worry — as you probably know, this sort of updates are usually rolled out in stages to keep the servers up and running. So in the next couple of days, or God forbid weeks, pretty much every Galaxy S II X owner on TELUS network will/should have its serving of everyone’s favorite candy (that’s at least until the next version of Android is released).

So fire-up Kies and check for updates. If nothing appears, well, you should just wait for OTA update. It’s much more convenient anyway…
