[UPDATE] Congratulations to Diego for Winning the contest!

AT&T has been busy cooking up a little show called Daybreak. This web series blends an entertaining show with advertising – without it being thrown in your face. At the moment, there are two episodes available to watch, with Chapter 3 set to be released tomorrow. In honor of the show, AT&T and IntoMobile will be giving away a pair of Nokia Purity headphones along with a SkinIt gift card!

The story follows a man named Ben Wilkins, who has just got tangled up in the mysterious death of his father and the work that he never got to finish. Fake policemen are chasing him and want him dead, and Ben hasn’t the faintest idea as to why. That’s until he meets a group of people who followed his father’s work and introduced him to the dodecahedron. A 12 digit pin number is needed to unlock his late father’s work and only Ben has the answer, but he needs to find it before anything moves forward and before the bad guys get to him first.

To make the story more interesting, you can visit DayBreak2012.com to extra clips to help solve the mystery. But it’s been taken a step further and you can also download the show’s companion app, Jack Boxer. The application is pretty elaborate at a glance and provides some very nice visuals. You can encrypt images, use the frequency analyzer, and scramble voice messages, only to have them un encrypted by those who you want. Jack Boxer definitely goes above and beyond to make DayBreak an even more entertaining experience.

“Daybreak” was created by Tim Kring, co-creator of the hit TV shows “Touch,”  “Heroes” and “Crossing Jordan.” It’s being directed by Jon Cassar, best known for “24.”  Kring drew inspiration for “Touch” and “Daybreak” while touring AT&T Labs. For years, Kring has touted “transmedia storytelling”– essentially telling stories across multiple platforms (TV, magazines, games, unique Web content, etc.). Experiencing firsthand the inventions at AT&T Labs, he realized he would be able to take that idea further and use new technologies both within his series and via Web connected devices to tell help further enrich the content and engage the viewer.

Now that you’re intrigued, onto the contest!

Just answer this question in the comments below:

In Daybreak, main character Ben Wilkins’ life is turned upside down by the dodecahedron, and he depends on AT&T technologies to help him solve problems and move forward. What smartphone app do you depend on to get you through the day?

Winner will be chosen on June 16th, which is the day after DayBreak chapter 3 will be released. We will contact the winner to get the necessary information. If the winner does not respond within 24 hours, a new winner will be chosen. Good luck!

Be sure to catch up with DayBreak Chapter 1 before you hit up Chapter 2 (below) and check out a behind the scenes look of the show below as well.

Don’t forget to grab the Jack Boxer app to help solve the mystery!

The smartphone app I use to get me through the day is Tweetcaster. I’m constantly on there checking new tweets and replies from my followers.  I love trending topics and find it helps me stay in touch with current events as they happen live.

I’m in the car all the time, and am a Nokia N8 user. I couldn’t (safely) make it through the day without Vlingo, the  activation app to text, call, open other apps, and search the web.
