Social travel website Trippy now has an iPad app, allowing users to share their own and access other people’s travel experiences on the iPad’s big screen. Available as a free download, the application builds on the iPhone app‘s interface while at the same time taking advantage of the extra screen estate to show more information at once.

Users are able to browse travel photos on a grid, or plotted out on a map (and shortly after launch – in a singular photo view), to save ideas for their future trips and remember the places they’ve been.

Moreover, Trippy’s iPad app also provides great utility for travelers while they’re actually on their trip. You can view your board on a map to see how close the places you’re visiting are in relation to each other, search for what friends and other travelers have said about local things to do or see.

The application syncs with the Trippy web site, allowing for a quick access to all your “want” and “been” boards, as well as any custom boards you’ve created on the site…
