Microsoft is preparing to open its first retail store in Canada. According to a report from The Star, the Redmond giant is heading to Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre and has apparently already cleared the paperwork needed to push this forward.
Unfortunately, the timeline is still a mystery though it’s fair to guess Microsoft will want to capitalize on the holiday sales. In other words, the new store may open in September, giving interested Canadians a glimpse into the Windows 8 world.
It’s safe to presume there will be the Microsoft Surface on display, along with new Windows Phone 8 devices (which will be launched in due course). Moreover, expect a “standard selection” of Windows laptops as well as a number of in-store events that will undoubtedly be organized to promote various products and services…
