The best virtual keyboard for Android, SwiftKey, is now out of beta and ready to be downloaded from Google Play. During the first week, the price is halved and you can get the app for $1.99 (or 1.49 GBP / 1.99 GBP), while existing SwiftKey X users will get the new version free of charge.
If you’ve been reading our earlier post on SwiftKey 3 (when it was in beta), you probably know that the most important change is the introduction of the new big-ass Space key, which is also pretty smart, featuring cutting edge correction that detects mistyped or omitted spaces across strings of words in real-time.
Moreover, there are two new themes: Cobalt to match SwiftKey’s new look and feel, and an ICS-styled Holo theme; as well as support for 7 new languages, including Korean, Estonian, Farsi, Icelandic, Latvian, Lithuanian and Serbian.
And that’s not all, since the first beta version was unveiled, many changes users required were introduced like a dedicated comma key and thekey in the bottom-left corner, refined Smart Punctuation pop-up, reduced lag on some devices for a more responsive experience and updated gestures for shortcuts.
What can I say – grab SwiftKey now. It will *definitely* help you type faster and you’ll love it for that!
