Like many other apps nowadays that start out on iOS and eventually rise to popularity, Pinterest is about to take the next crucial step for expanding its user base: finding a home on Android. There’s no better time to make such a move than during Google I/O.

The detectives over at Ausdroid went snooping through the recently released Google I/O app and unexpectedly found Pinterest in the list of exhibitors who will be present at the developer conference this year. Sure enough, upon further investigation, it looks as if Carl Rice and Cynthia Maxwell of Pinterest will be doing the honors to announce that Pinterest is coming to Google Play.

The entry for the Pinterest announcement in the app reads, “Pinterest lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. Now available for Android.” Now that’s straight shooting. For a while the hint of an imminent Android app has been on Pinterest’s website under the Support section. In response to the question, “Can I install the Pin It bookmarklet on an Android device?” Pinterest responds with a no, but adds: “We’re working on a dedicated Android app. We know lots of folks are eager to see one, so when we feel we’re in the final stages of its development, we’ll be sure to share more information.”

It’s all but confirmed now that Android users will soon get to join in with iOS users (possibly by the end of this week) to pin and share everything in this world they find appealing — that’s the Pinterest way.

Pinterest is the best. You can actually load up your system with some targeted followers to get a jump start. More people are attracted to my site now that I have a couple of thousand followers (hint: Buy them at a reputable company like Mohr Publicity so you can safely and legitimately do this) . It cost me about $50  but only took one day. Worth it in every way.
