HipGeo and Rough Guides launched the Rough Guide Trip Lens app for iPad and iPhone, allowing users to transform a collection of individual photos and text into a “creative narrative of travel adventures.” Available as a free download, the application uses location-based technology to pinpoint the user’s location and record their journey as it happens.
Travelers can post photos and text from anywhere in the world, and watch their travels unfold on a map at each destination. Of course, there’s also the ability to share locations and photos via Facebook and Twitter, and link to a website that compiles all the photos from the journey into a personalized blog for friends and family to see.
On the other end, you can see what other travelers are up to and even join the conversation if you fancy so.
All in all, it’s another travel-themed social network which may actually gain some traction thanks to the popularity of the Rough Guides brand. We’ll see…
