VIZIO once again issued a press release on the VIZIO Co-Star Stream Player, reminding the world about its Google TV product which was initially introduced at this year’s CES in Las Vegas. The compact device comes with a dual-faced universal remote that has standard numeric keys and a trackpad on one end, and full QWERTY keyboard on the other.
Set to start selling in July for $99, the Co-Star will turn any HDTV into a smart TV, offering web browser, email client, as well as a number of apps from Google Play. Moreover, VIZIO is especially emphasizing the device’s capability to sing along OnLive Game Service that effectively turn Co-Star into a full-fledged game console that takes its “power” from the cloud. Then there’s one-key access to other popular services like Netflix, Amazon Instant Video and M-GO, ensuring you always have something to watch.
Pretty cool and something I would definitely consider buying… as soon as VIZIO decides to start selling its Google TV device in Europe. Hopefully, I/we won’t have to wait for too long to see that happening…
